The Importance of High Meat Content in Dog Food
It is said that dog food with a lot of meat is better for your pet. But unfortunately, this is not the case. It is also worth paying close attention to this.
For humans and animals alike, the correct nutrition is vital to health and wellbeing. It is not recommended to buy dog food by reaching blindly into the shelves. Even a high-priced product or a package that promises “high meat content”, is not able to guarantee quality.
The quantity of meat consumed does not always equate to the quality.
It is important that dog food contains a high amount of meat, as this is the closest thing to what your pet would have eaten in the wild. After all, it is a descendant from the wolf, and has the carnivore dentition, and digestive system, which can use primarily proteins. It’s not only about the amount, but the quality as well.
Your dog will not benefit from low-quality proteins, or offal that is mixed with sugar or flavor enhancers. Only high-quality meat contains the nutrients, proteins, and proteins animals require. The meat can be combined with fruits, vegetables or grains. It does not really matter whether your dog eats dry or wet food. It all depends on their preferences and needs.
Sometimes less is more with dog food
A good dog food isn’t a matter of price. Remember: If you feed your dog high-quality food, it may require him to consume less to get enough protein and nutrients than if he ate low-quality food. This is true even if you make the treats yourself. The exact needs of your dog will depend on its breed, age and level of activity.
